As wide as the ocean and with as many shades and hues - that's the diversity and reach of our brilliant members of
HKBU’s alumni community! Nurtured at HKBU under the ethos of Whole Person Education, our alumni boast
a variety of talents, many of which they honed at their alma mater before going on to wow the world.
Now, as the University marks its 60th anniversary, a multifaceted cast of HKBU Buddies have come together
in love and loyalty, pooling their expertise to stage an extravaganza to remember.
Mark your diaries for the “We are BUddies” Alumni Show at the Academic Community Hall, HKBU,
at 8:00pm on 30 January 2016 (Saturday).

You can look forward to:
  • A live webcast to bring together our 90,000 alumni around the world, giving everyone a chance to
    witness and be part of the evening’s festivities
  • A breathtaking showcase of our alumni’s talent in various art forms – Drama, Orchestra and Choir, Singing, Recitation, Magic and Dance – that
    will keep you at the edge of your seat
  • The creative genius of five award-winning directors and screenwriters working together for their alma mater
  • An unmatched cast and crew of over 50 renowned local artistes, directors and notable alumni
  • A walk down memory lane by reliving 5 important milestones in HKBU history

The Show will be conducted in Cantonese.

Scene 1: Beginning in tough times

A drama revisiting the obstacles and challenges that the founding President Dr. Lam Chi-fung faced.

Scene 2: Overcoming challenges

The poem “School Eulogy” tells the story of President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Daniel CW Tse leading the College on the path to growth during hard times, while an amazing magic show expresses firm faith in overcoming challenges. A singing performance conveys the joy and happiness HKBU experienced when it became a fully-funded university.

Scene 3: Flying high with innovation

This episode reveals HKBU’s achievement under the leadership of President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ng Ching-fai in introducing innovative academic programmes. HKBU was the first local university to have established an affiliated school and an institution in Mainland China.

Scene 4: Embracing the future

A conversation between President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Albert SC Chan and students evoking recollections of the important milestones of HKBU. An energetic dance performance showcases HKBU’s vitality.

Scene 5: Looking ahead, Going global

President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Roland T. Chin encourages the HKBU community to go global as the University continues to scale new heights in higher education. Classic songs are performed with guitar and drum accompaniment as the grand finale of the Show.
